God’s peace is surrounding us. We have had friends pray that ministering angels would care for Bob and the family and we have witnessed this become reality. We are grateful for Hospice and their care. One of the nurses was with us during the night to help him rest more comfortably. He is spending more and more time resting.
We are blessed to know that Bob is confident that he will be with our loving Lord Jesus for eternity. Yesterday, one of his dear friends came by to visit. He said, “friend I will be back soon.” Bob responded, “I will see you in glory.”

Susie,
My thkoughts and prayers are with you, your children, and your grandchildren in the passing of Bob into glory. Like others from his 1980s Singles Sunday school Class, my life was effected greatly by Bob’s simple, yet mighty walk of faith.
I had one opportunity in my 26 years of being a Calvary missionary to speak before the whole church congregation. it was during one night of the 1986 Missions Conference. Bob interviewed each of us missionaries on a Sunday night. My sinple, yet truthful answer to Bob’s question to me, “What brought you to Calvary Church?”, was “I came to Calvary Church six years ago (1980) looking for a Christian wife and ended up at JAARS.” God used Bob’s teaching and Christian walk of faith to help me hear God’s call for me to a labor of love at JAARS.
Praise God for using Bob to mentor me through my early years at Calvary Church!

Rev 19:5-9 – Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you His servants who fear Him, both small and great!” Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear.” Then the angel said to me, “Write: blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”. Rev 21:1-5 – Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them, They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and will be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Barb and I are lifting you all up to our Lord, asking that His Spirit will not just sustain you, but bring you joy in the salvation He secures. We love you all.

The Christ-Follower I am today is in large part due to the teachings of Bob. He has been there to both teach and to lift me up with his knowledge and compassion when I have been at my lowest point. He is one of the few people in this world I consider a true friend. No hidden agendas, no expectations, just interested in doing life, and serving others with both laughter and sharing his love of Christ. It goes without saying that to spend many more days, months, years with him as a teacher and a friend would be a great blessing to anyone that knows him. Yet it is by his teachings that I understand this is not something any of us on earth control. It is all God’s plan and by God’s timelines that things will take place. If there was ever a person I have know in this world that without a doubt will meet our creator when his work on earth is done, it is Bob. As a family you know the feelings I have towards you all and the un-conditional support that is here whne or if needed. Know you are all being lifted up in on-going prayer during this Journey. “Topher”

What a perspective! “The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us”. For the mortal to put on immortality, to be in the presence of God, to see Him face-to-face is the heart cry of every believer. Godspeed, Bob! Your lessons on faith and discipleship will be missed, but you have passed the baton to others, and you have finished the race well.

OJ and I met in Bob’s singles class at Calvary. We sure love you and miss you. Bob I miss your dry wit and I see it in your blog. Thank you for sharing your journey and know that you are not alone. All our love and prayers are with you. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.
