Thank you

What an encouragement each of you have been to my family.  Your cards, your comments even the fact that so many of you stayed in touch and abreast of what was going on thru this blog.  The last several of days have been very hectic as you can imagine.  Many of you have been thru the challenges that we are facing.  It has been amazing to see the lives that Bob touched.  So thank you for sharing.

We didn’t realize the amount of people that were following this blog.  To be exact there have been 17,202 visits in the last 5 months.  Over 1200 on Feb, 4th.  Because of this activity we are going to try and post the memorial service that was held on Monday, Feb. 8th.  I heard of one Sunday School class that has been following it, and they are in Atlanta.

Again thank you for your prayers and encouragement as we make the adjustment or as dad said, “the shift.”

  1. For me the most powerful part of Bob’s life is the glimpse of God’s kingdom he has shown me. The passion and love he lived for God, his family and his friends painted the best picture of what God intends for our lives that I’ve witnessed thus far in my life. We were created to live in relationship with God and others as Jesus reflects in Matt. 22:36-39. In this fallen world we need people like Bob to show us what God wanted for our lives and communities. His legacy clearly lives on and beyond his family; it lives in the hearts and minds of those he shared life with. I am honored to be one of those people. Bob, thanks for living a life that reveals God in this temporary reality.

  2. Memory of Bob…

Bob Pace…Man of God who walked humbly before His Lord…

The depth of your sorrow is a reflection of the depth of your relationship. What a simple but true statement.

My first clear memory of Bob was on Sardis and Randolph Road. He was asked to speak to the congregation as he had been nominated to serve as elder. I remember being impressed with the humble approach he took to this nomination.

Over the years our lives intersected many times. Eventually we served together as elders. I could always count on Bob for clear biblical thinking. He never wavered in his faith.

In February 2005 when I found out about my cancer Bob came out on a Sunday evening to gather with a group that met just to pray for me. I was asked to share my relationship with the Lord and explained the situation with the cancer. Before we prayed a time was opened for comments and interesting enough Bob said to me that he was wondering if he should pray for healing or just go ahead and pray me on into Heaven! He said I was ready either way. Now for me this was a great affirmation of my life! Honestly this is the only comment I remember from that prayer meeting.

It is my greatest memory of Bob which has become even more precious to me now as I watched Bob walk the same path in his own journey.

    Bob, see you in glory!!!

  3. Sometimes you don’t know the impact you have on peoples lives. Bob was humble and caring. He was like Jesus with skin on. I hope you can see all that you have done now Bob! I know that you are smiling where you are. You deserve to be with Jesus and I know he was there to welcome you and hug you.
    See you some day…
    Janie

  4. I was touched by the words of the pastors that spoke. Bob told me one time that he really had a heart for pastors. As it turns out they had a heart for him also. Teach the people to love Jesus and live a legacy. What a life!!!!
